Professional Development Opportunity for Retail Sales Associates

Are you interested in helping update a certification program for retail sales associates? Are you interested in networking with retail sales associates from across the country?

The Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council (CTHRC) is updating the emerit® certification program for retail sales associates.  We are looking for professionals like you to sit in a focus group and provide your expertise on the knowledge and abilities required of retail sales associates. 

When are the Meetings?
We are happy to host the meetings in Ottawa, Ontario from March 7-9th, 2012.  The CTHRC will cover all flight and hotel expenses to Ottawa for this meeting.

What Will I Be Doing?
You will review a multiple choice exam that tests retail sales associates’ knowledge, skills and attitudes.  You will help ensure that they questions are accurate, clear, relevant and fair, and that the exam is not too difficult or too easy.

Who Can Participate?
We are looking for retail sales associates who work in a range of settings, from small retail businesses to large chain department stores.  Preferably, you will have at least two years of experience, performing functions such as providing effective customer service, processing sales and inventory, and maintaining a safe work environment.

This is a wonderful professional development opportunity, where you can test your knowledge and skills as a retail sales associate, demonstrate leadership, network with other associates from across the country, and represent your business.
