Labour Demand and Supply

Under labour market conditions that existed prior to 2017, it was expected that demand for jobs in tourism would exceed what the labour market could fill. 

At that time, yearly immigration to Canada was about 0.8% of the population. We modelled the impact of increasing annual immigration to 1% of the population, starting in 2017. The charts show the demand for jobs and the available supply of labour under the original projections (base-case) and with increased immigration.
