Demographic Profile of Tourism Sector Employees

The Demographic Profile of Tourism Employees report (previously Total Tourism Sector Employment) is developed every five years as new customized Census data is made available. It provides employment statistics for each of the industry groups included in the tourism sector, as well as demographic profiles of the tourism labour force by geography and industry group, for selected occupations.

The report was developed using customized tabulations from the 2006 Census, and offers demographic summaries for the sector as a whole and each of the tourism industry groups. Reporting is also offered for each component industry and for 38 tourism occupations, which represent 77% of employment in the sector.
