Education

The Council recognizes the importance education plays with respect to ensuring a highly skilled workforce, and is involved in a number of education-based initiatives.

From the Council’s own Canadian Academy of Travel & Tourism (CATT) and presentations at secondary and middle schools to projects with the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) and Canada CHRIE, making connections between formal education and industry-based training is a key mandate of the CTHRC.

Over the past few years, exciting new work in the arena of foreign credential recognition has become an additional component to the Council’s mandate. This inclusive approach facilitates a common goal - a more professional and productive tourism workforce.
