CTHRC Provides Input on the Design of a Pan-Canadian Foreign Credential Recognition Information Centre
July 07 2009
On June 23, 2009, CTHRC attended the stakeholder engagement session on the design of a Pan-Canadian Foreign Credential Recognition Information Centre. The Ottawa event was hosted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada's Foreign Credential Recognition Office (FCRO). The consultation’s objective was to provide input on the design and development of a web-based information centre to facilitate information-sharing on promising practices of foreign credential recognition across Canada. At the meeting, the CTHRC highlighted the need for a hybrid approach that encompasses the recognition of both foreign credentials and competencies to facilitate the labour market integration of newcomers into the workforce. In addition, the CTHRC offered experience-based suggestions on marketing strategies to promote the information centre.
