CTHRC Seeks Executive Housekeepers for National Occupational Standards Development

July 21 2009

The CTHRC is currently looking for active Executive Housekeepers to assist with a project being undertaken by the Council. The project will determine whether there is a need for the development of emerit National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the Executive Housekeeper occupation. The NOS documents detail the knowledge and skills required to be considered competent in a given occupation. All NOS developed and offered by CTHRC are available for free download at emerit.ca.

In June, the CTHRC – in collaboration with Human Resources Systems Group, provincial and territorial tourism human resource organizations, and industry experts – launched the current project. It will use norm referencing, as well as industry interviews and surveys, to build a business case to determine the need for Executive Housekeeper standards.

The CTHRC and our partners fully appreciate the importance of having our products reflect the needs of the industry, and therefore feel it is crucial to have experts in this occupation participate in our research. If you are an active Executive Housekeeper, we would greatly appreciate your participation in this project by completing a five- to ten-minute online survey. The survey can be accessed at the link below and will be available until July 31, 2009.
