About CTHRC > National Spokesperson
Nancy Greene – Working with the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council

The CTHRC is honoured to be associated with an athlete and entrepreneur of Nancy Greene Raine’s stature. Among her long list of professional accomplishments are Olympic Champion, Canadian Female Athlete of the Century, and Office of the Order of Canada.
In 2007, the Council’s Board proposed to build recognition for its national brands by finding a prominent spokesperson. It was important to identify an individual who had impeccable credentials and a close association with the tourism industry. This individual also had to embody the attributes of the CTHRC’s national brands: commitment to excellence, dedication to training, and spirit of innovation.
The Council looked at a number of prominent individuals for the spokesperson role, but in the end it was obvious Ms. Greene Raine was the perfect fit. That Canada is leading up to an Olympic Games hosted in her B.C. backyard made the choice that much more appropriate.
Over the coming months, Ms. Greene Raine will be featured in CTHRC communications and advertising to bolster the profile and credibility of its brands: emerit Tourism Training, Discover Tourism, and the Discover Tourism employee-rated Employer of Choice program.
